Tone Tools
Web app
Web application designed to help teach those new to sight reading and music theory.
More About This Project
- Required the programming of complex audio functions, such as lookahead schedulers, in order to get tools such as Chord Progression and Polyrhythms to work properly.
- Utilizes native web api's for many app functions, such as web audio, local storage, and web midi interfaces.
- Highly efficient use of CSS variables and utility classes for ease of reuse and modification. This is heavily used for creating new tools quickly without much need for redesigning.
- Web midi interface is completely made by hand for smaller file size and more tailored to my particular needs.
- HowlerJS helps bridge many parts of the app with an easy to use API for processing audio. This is used for my piano and sound effects throughout much of the app.
- TonalJS used heavily for its music theory helpers for much of the logic of this application (nearly every tool and exercise!).
